OUR MINISTRIES
CHILDREN'S MINISTRY:
The Children’s Ministry, which covers preschool through the fifth grade, is an enthusiastic part of our total church family. In addition to Sunday School, there are many other activities offered for our children. A Children’s Church is offered for all preschoolers during the morning worship service. TeamKID is offered for all children two years of age through the fifth grade during the school year on Wednesday evening. Van Ministry runs four vans on Wednesday & Sunday to ensure you're getting to church.
YOUTH MINISTRY:
The Youth Ministry has the goal of training middle school and high school students to be leaders in today’s church. This ministry seeks to meet the needs of young people by helping them to grow in the Lord through both personal and group Bible
study. The youth are also taught their responsibility to boldly take a stand for Christ in their homes, schools, and social outlets. In addition to Sunday School, there is Wednesday night Youth Jam. Many activities are offered throughout the year to enhance both fellowship and unity.
ADULT MINISTRY:
The First Family believes that it is important to minister to all ages including our adults. Because of this, we have a College and Career Department which focuses on those between the age of 18-25, a Co-Ed Department which focuses on those adults from 26-55, and a Senior Adult Department for those 55 and older. Whether in college or in retirement, we have a place for you at First Baptist Church!
MUSIC MINISTRY:
The First Family sincerely believes that music and worship are an intricate part of our total church program. Thus, the Celebration Choir works diligently from week to week preparing for the worship services. In addition, there are soloists, special choirs, and presentations throughout the year.
EDUCATION MINISTRY:
First Baptist Church understands the importance of the call of God to “go and make disciples.” For this reason, we seek to nurture, train, and encourage members to become spirit-filled followers of Christ. Sunday School is an age-grouped Bible
study with classes offered for every member of your family. Also, different specialized studies are offered throughout the year designed to meet specific life needs.
FELLOWSHIP MINISTRY:
It is indeed important for a church to be in unity. For this reason, we strive to offer a variety of Church wide fellowships throughout the year. These special times are designed for the members of First Baptist Church to become better acquainted with one another. This, in essence, will strengthen the fellowship within the First Family which will in turn strengthen our unity.
SPORTS MINISTRY:
is an evangelistic sports ministry specifically designed for K5 through eighth grade boys and girls that promotes salvation, character, and self-esteem in every child. Sports are a great way for children to learn about team work, respect for authority and sportsmanship. The sad part is all those things are being lost in today's sporting society.
With an UpwardŽ sport, these key essentials are included to create the best sporting experience for every child that participates. Each UpwardŽ Sport is designed to reveal the winner in every child. Every child plays. Every child learns. Every child IS a Winner!
First Baptist Church Strawberry Plains offers the following UpwardŽ Sports - basketball, cheerleading, and soccer. Basketball/cheerleading are 'Fall/Winter' sports - watch for details on sign-ups which will take place in October for the 2008-2009 season. Soccer is played in the spring - watch for details on sign-ups which will take place in February and March for the Spring 2009 season.
